Sadie’s Bubble of Yum Reloaded

I’m back!!

Wow, it will take me forever and day and a good few blog posts to share just how much has happened since my last blog post, over three years ago!

What has happened?

The past three years could literally have been the best years of my life, I have two precious little daughters, Haniyah my oldest is just over two years old and little Imaan is freshly seven months *cue in love emoji*. I could ramble on and on about work, life, kids and the chaos in juggling all of this etc, etc. but let’s get back to my first baby…Sadie’s Bubble of Yum…

Introducing Sadie’s Bubble of Yum 2.0

Throughout these past three years, I’ve constantly been asked when I’m going to get the blog up and running again, requests for new recipes, baking tips and advice. Honestly, the biggest reason I stopped blogging was a popular reason most people, if not everyone, cease to do certain things, the lack of time…

It sounds a bit crazy with two little kids, to get back into blogging, but I feel like it’s the right time. The one thing that has remained constant through this time is my sincere, whole-hearted, scarily bordering obsessed, deep love for baking. To keep my constant sweet craving at bay and just have a home that’s always filled with yummy, freshly-baked goods, I am constantly baking. The great thing about these past few years and being in the PR industry is that it’s given me a fresh perspective on blogging in general.

Through sheer motivation and constant encouragement from my husband and my dearest besties Tasneem AKA Domingo & Nisreen and hilarious, possibly illegal videos at Cinnabon taken by Nis & her husband Yazeed, a spark was ignited to relaunch Sadie’s Bubble of Yum with a much broader offering.

New Offering

Instead of just sharing recipes, my intention is for Sadie’s Bubble of Yum to become more of a foodie portal, your go-to for all things foodie related. What you can expect is:

  • More tried and tested recipes: I will continue to share recipes, but it will be so much more than just sharing recipes…
  • Reviews: I will be reviewing various food-related products (all strictly halaal) from ingredients to utensils, aiding both you and I to broaden our kitchen horizon, giving us the encouragement to be completely adventurous and the inspiration to be fabulous foodies! I will also be reviewing halaal eateries, situated in Cape Town and wherever I may find myself on holiday. It is an honest struggle for me to think of more than a handful of great halaal establishments and through this, I hope to find and share with you the gems out there.
  • In my kitchen: In the menu bar, you’ll see a tab called In Sadie’s Kitchen, my intention is to call upon my family, friend and fellow foodies to join me in my kitchen to whip up a dish whether it be divine mains or drool-worthy dessert and sharing the recipe of course 🙂
  • Kitchen tips: In the tab, Kitchen Tips, I will share posts on specific topics with the purpose on giving tips and advice to help you and I in the kitchen, getting us MasterChef ready!

Whether you’re newly married and have no confidence in your kitchen skills or complete lack thereof, single and looking for quick and yummy meals or married for 50 years making the same old boring chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream – I hope the new Sadie’s Bubble of Yum will be your go-to for delicious inspiration.

I have to say thank you to those who have been my constant encouragements, the little voices in my head who biasedly love my baking and constantly motivate me to turn this passion into something:

My dear parents – I can’t think of anything I’ve ever wanted to do that you haven’t sincerely supported me on, you always have utmost faith in me and my endeavours and that means the absolute world to me;

My darling husband – my love, I take my scarf off to you for dealing with all my crazy moments – trying to talk myself out of restarting the blog, eating my completely flopped, no-turning-back fails with a smile, etc, etc. You have been such a strong pillar of support not only with the blog, but with everything your impulsive wife wants to do. I love you so much and must warn you that there are quite a few epic fail dishes coming your way – I’m sorry and good luck!

The fantastic four: Domingo, Nis, Yazeed & Waseem – thank you for always being my guinea pigs and making my head swell to a ridiculous size with all your compliments, I couldn’t ask for better besties honestly! Here’s to many more taster nights, filled with hopefully yummy goods, ugly-laugh laughter (the best kind), kiddies in every corner and the best company!

Squishy Mishy – thank you for all your encouragement, trying to tame my turban-fails and being my much-needed support in this journey.

This is just Phase 1…

I warn you…this is only the beginning, I have so much more in store for Sadie’s Bubble of Yum which I will soon reveal. Until then, or at least the first recipe post – happy toothacheless dessert indulging!
